After leading for much of the game, East Brunswick gave up two goals in 30 seconds to South Brunswick in the semi-final round of the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament.The Bears took the lead in the first half when Cristina Estremera scored. In the second half, South Brunswick tied it when defender Cagnie Antzcak hit a high bouncing pass that went over the head of the East Brunswick Defender. Thirty seconds later Casey Armstrong scored to put the Vikings up 2-1.
The defending champion, top-seeded East Brunswick, struck for two goals in the first half by Ellie DiLiberto and Natasha Ntone Kouo in the quarterfinals of the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament in East Brunswick.
In the 15th minute, DiLiberto poked home an Angela Marrone corner kick from six yards out. In the 36th minute, Ntone Kouo sliced through the Bishop Ahr defense off a nice feed from Cristine Estremera and scored.
East Brunswick goalkeeper Ashley Gomola stopped two shots to record the shutout, while Bishop Ahr’s Brianna Foster turned away 12 shots.
The East Brunswick High School girls soccer team clinched the Greater Middlesex Conference Red Division championship Thursday afternoon with a 1-0 shutout victory over Old Bridge.The tight match was scoreless at the half.Senior forward Angela Marrone scored the only goal, assisted by senior defender Kelly Morrison, with only three minutes left in the game. Morrison had a free kick and Marrone headed the ball into the net.Senior goalie Ashley Gomola had seven saves for the Bears 12-1-1.
Both East Brunswick coach Kevin Brady and standout forward Angela Marrone felt their team was not even close to being on top of its game in yesterday’s Star-Ledger Top 20 showdown with rival Piscataway.
But then again, to shut out a Top 20 team on the road without your best effort is not exactly a bad thing.
With Marrone assisting Natasha Ntone Kouo and Sydney Rosa in the first half, No. 17 East Brunswick posted a 2-0 victory over No. 18 Piscataway in Piscataway to clinch at least a tie for the Greater Middlesex Conference-Red Division title.

ristina Estremera scored twice, Natasha Ntone Kouo scored once and Angela Marrone posted two assists as East Brunswick beat Woodbridge for the second time this season, in Woodbridge.Ntone Kouo opened the scoring 1:30 into the game and Estremera scored 12 minutes later as East Brunswick 9-1-1 took a 2-0 halftime lead. Shawna Grabowski scored for Woodbridge 2-8, with an assist from Justine Webster, 12:00 into the second half to make it 2-1, but Estremera struck again with 2:30 left to play.East Brunswick goalie Ashley Gomola registered three saves and Woodbridge goalie Carly Matthews had 14.

Erin Sullivan delivered a goal before halftime and assisted on a strike from Kelly Merten midway through the second half to power Bridgewater-Raritan, No. 19 in The Star-Ledger Top 20, over eighth-ranked East Brunswick in East Brunswick.
Sullivan finished an endline cross from Lauren Hall in the 37th minute to open the scoring and served a corner kick that Merten put away in the 55th minute to give Bridgewater (6-3-1) a 2-0 lead. Julia Wescott converted a penalty kick in the 68th minute for East Brunswick (8-1-1).

A third-team All-State selection as a sophomore, Ntone Kouo has seven goals and four assists and has scored or assisted in all nine games for East Brunswick, which is 8-0-1 and ranked No. 8 in The Star-Ledger Top 20. In a showdown last week with No. 18 Piscataway, Ntone Kouo broke things open with three goals, including two headers.

Sydney Rosa recorded a hat trick to lead East Brunswick in Edison. Rosa opened the scoring for East Brunswick (4-0-1) in the fifth minute, converting a pass from Angela Marrone from just inside the 25-yard line. Rosa also scored in the 16th and 52nd minutes. Natasha N’tone Kouo scored goals in the 17th and 28th minutes and Cristina Estremara scored in the 57th minute to complete the scoring. Marrone had three assists, Erica Kent had two, while Karen Spehalski, Ellie DiLiberto and Estremara each had an assist. East Brunswick led 4-0 at the half and outshot J.P. Stevens (0-3-0), 16-9. Ashley Gomola made six saves for East Brunswick.
