Leonard Robbins-Lockhart had no idea the meet was on the line when he took the baton in second place during the 1,600-meter relay, but the East Brunswick sprinting standout did not want to take any chances.

With his team trailing Piscataway by two points entering the relay, Robbins-Lockhart grabbed the stick, made up a 10-meter deficit on the first turn, then proceeded to split 47.5 as East Brunswick edged South Brunswick to win the event and captured its first Greater Middlesex Conference championship since 1987 yesterday at Frank Jost Field in South Plainfield.
