February 26, 2007 - NJSIAA First Round: Hillsborough 60, East Brunswick 50
East Brunswick fell behind 15-10 in the first quarter, but attempted a comeback in the second, spurred on by
senior guard Andrew Golczewski who scored 8 of his 17 points in the second quarter. Senior forward Erick Eckhardt
lead the team in scoring with 19 points and also contributed 16 rebounds.
Scoring for East Brunswick were:
John McLaughlin (4 points), Eric Eckhardt (19 points), Andrew Golczewski (17 points),
Scott Stolzenberg (2 points), Steve Grossman (6 points) and Matt Gases (2 points).

February 18, 2007 - GMCT Quarterfinals: Cardinal McCarrick 71, East Brunswick 62
East Brunswick came close to pulling off a second victory against Cardinal McCarrick in the season, but this time they came up short. East Brunswick was ahead at the end of the first quarter 19-5 and were only down by three at the half. With just under three minutes left in the game, Cardinal McCarrick had a slim 58-57 margin. McCarrick then made a layup and added a foul shot to go up 61-57. Jason Henning made a foul shot, but McCarrick followed it up with a basket to extend the margin to 63-58. East Brunswick made the next basket to pull within three, but when Cardinal McCarrick made four foul shots in a row, the game was put out of reach. East Brunswick had a balance attack, with John McLaughlin and Andrew Golczewski both scoring 15 and Eric Eckhardt scoring 14. Scoring for East Brunswick were: John McLaughlin (15 points), Eric Eckhardt (14 points), Andrew Golczewski (15 points), Jason Henning (3 points), Mike Mello (2 points), Scott Stolzenberg (3 points), Steve Grossman (6 points) and Matt Gases (2 points). February 16, 2007 - GMCT Third Round: East Brunswick 53, J.P. Stevens 48
East Brunswick finished strong to pull out a victory over J.P. Stevens in the third round of the Greater
Middlesex Conference Tournament. East Brunswick started off the game strong with a 14-6 first quarter followed up by a
three point advantage in the second to make the score at the half 26-15. A strong run by J.P. Stevens in the
third period resulted in a tied game with less than 2 minutes to play. Andrew Golczewski was East Brunswick's
leading scorer with 13 which included a critical three pointer
with the game tied and less than 2 minutes left.

East Brunswick started off strong with a 13-5 first period and closed the first half with a solid 30-12 advantage. Despite giving up some ground in the third period, East Brunswick was never less than 9 point ahead in the second half. John McLaughlin was the top scorer for East Brunswick with 18 points, followed by Steve Grossmand with 15 and Eric Eckhardt with 12. February 8, 2007 - East Brunswick 47, Piscataway 46
East Brunswick held off Piscataway at the end to hold onto a one point victory. Andrew Golczewski made a free throw with
40 seconds left to put East Brunswick up by 47-44. Piscataway then made a basket to pull within one, but East Brunswick
was able to run out the clock for the victory. John McLaughlin was the leading scorer with 14 points, followed by
Jason Henning and Matt Gases each with 10 points.

East Brunswick got off to a slow start against a St. Joseph's team that has won seven straight games. The Bears fell behind 15-7 in the first period and 25-13 at the half. A strong final period wasn't enough to erase the deficit. Eric Eckhardt and Jason Henning each scored 9 points. East Brunswick won in an upset victory over Cardinal McCarrick in a Greater Middlesex Conference crossover game in front of an enthusiastic
home crowd. John McLaughlin scored 20 points and had 7 rebounds and 3 steals for East Brunswick. Eric Eckhardt scored 18 points and
had 10 rebounds for the Bears, while teammate Jason Henning had 10 assists to go with his 3 points.

Despite 17 points from East Brunswick's Eric Eckhardt, the Bears were not able to keep pace with the 17-1 South Brunswick Vikings.
South Brunswick got out to a 24-17 first period advantage and added to their lead with each period. Malcolm Soaries scored 13 points
for South Brunswick.

East Brunswick and Edison were close through the first half with the score 25-22 at the break. In the second half, the Bears slowly extended their lead and put the game out of reach with a 16-8 final period, during which John McLaughlin scored 5 of his team high 13 points for East Brunswick. East Brunswick jumped out to a 12-4 advantage in the first period and the game was never close after that. East Brunswick jumped out to a 22-10 lead in the first quarter and surged ahead in the third period to put the game out of reach. Senior Eric Eckhardt was the top scorer with 15 points, while fellow seniors Matt Gases and John McLaughlin each scored 14 points for East Brunswick. January 20, 2007 - East Brunswick 75, South Plainfield 48
East Brunswick cruised to victory over South Plainfield in a Saturday home match. The Bears jumped
out to a 13-0 lead. South Plainfield finally got on the scoreboard by making two foul shots.
At the end of the first period, East Brunswick was up 17-6. The Bears didn't let up and were up by
33-19 at the half. After the Bears got up by 30 points, South Plainfield got very aggressive trying to
steal the ball. This strategy had only minimal success, but resulted in many fouls for both team.
East Brunswick made most of their foul shots and had several nice fast breaks and thus had
no trouble keeping well out in front.

East Brunswick fell behind 12-7 in the first period and 26-21 at the half. Despite a strong third period, East Brunswick was not able to catch up. Travis Heilman lead the scoring for East Brunswick with 12 points. East Brunswick fought a defensive struggle against Piscataway, but could not overcome a 18-9 half time deficit. John McLaughlin lead the Bears in scoring with 11 points. January 13, 2007 - East Brunswick 48, St Joseph 44
East Brunswick scored an impressive victory over a highly ranked St Joseph team.
East Brunswick started out slow and quickly fell behind by 10 points at the end of the first quarter.
With a stingy defense and a great deal of hustle, East Brunswick managed to reduce the gap to 24-20 at the half.
A surge by East Brunswick at the start of the second half resulted in a tied game 24-24, but
East Brunswick started missing shots and St Joseph landed a three pointer and a couple of foul shots to open the lead back up.
It looked like St Joseph was going to pull away, but East Brunswick got really agressive on defense swarming all over
whoever had the ball. They got several turnovers and started closing the gap. With only a few minutes remaining, Travis Heilman
landed a three point play to put East Brunswick ahead for the first time at 41-40. With great ball handling and perfect foul shooting,
East Brunswick was then able to put the game away.
Scoring for East Brunswick were:

Travis Heilman (9 points) and Matt Gases (2 points). East Brunswick is

East Brunswick had a tough time against the unbeaten South Brunswick Vikings. Martin Soaries scored 18 points for South Brunswick and contributed 5 assists. Eric Eckhardt scored 11 points for East Brunswick to lead the Bears. East Brunswick won again with a strong effort from Eric Eckhardt who recorded a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. The Bears lead by a slim three point margin at the half, but outscored Woodbridge 35-21 in the second half to pull away. John McLaughlin and Andrew Golczewski both scored in double digits with 12 and 11 points respectively. January 4, 2007 - East Brunswick 65, Edison 45
East Brunswick outscored Edison 20-4 in the second period to pull out for good against Edison. John McLaughlin and Steve Grossman each scored six points in the second period. East Brunswick was ahead by two at the half and was tied with Marlboro after three periods, but they could not keep pace with Marlboro in the final period. Andrew Golczewski scored 16 points to lead the Bears. Senior John McLaughlin had 11 points and 8 rebounds. East Brunswick came out of the blocks fast with a 15-4 first period followed by a 17-9 second period to put the Bears up by 32-13 at the half. East Brunswick almost caught up in the fourth period, but Immaculata surged forward to put the game out of reach. . Andrew Golczewski scored 14 points to lead the Bears. December 23, 2006 - Colonia 57, East Brunswick 55 (2 OT)
East Brunswick fought an epic struggle against a strong Colonia team, but in the end, they came up short in double overtime. John McLaughlin lead all scorers with 30 points. East Brunswick lead early and went up by as many as 8 points at one point. Colonia surged at the end of the half and only trailed by 1 at the half. With 5 seconds left in the game, Travis Heilman fired a jump shot that looked like it was going to be the game winner, but it rolled out sending the game into overtime. In the first overtime, John McLaughlin tied the score at 53-53 with 8 seconds left. Colonia narrowly missed on a long buzzer beater. Colonia won in the second overtime with a jump shot by Mike Salvador. Scoring for East Brunswick were: John McLaughlin (30 points), Andrew Golczewski (2 points), Travis Heilman (9 points), Scott Stolzenberg (4 points) and Steve Grossman (4 points). East Brunswick is now 3-1 for the season.
December 21, 2006 - East Brunswick 62, Perth Amboy 52
East Brunswick was impressive against Perth Amboy for an enthusiastic
home crowd. The Bears jumped out to a nice lead in the first period, but Perth Amboy
struggled back and actually took the lead 15-14. The Bears then demonstrated that
they just couldn't miss from three range and were back in front by 27-18 at the
half. East Brunswick continued to dominate in the second half with a swarming defense
that resulted in a number of steals. Perth Amboy tried to get back into it at the end,
but never got closer than 8 points. With the win, East Brunswick is now 3-0 for the season.

East Brunswick scored 13 points in each of the four quarters which was sufficient to keep them out in front from the early going. December 15, 2006 - East Brunswick 53, Old Bridge 46
East Brunswick looked strong against division rival Old Bridge. East Brunswick
jumped out to a 4-0 lead, briefly relinquished the lead at 7-6, prior to dashing
off nine unanswered points. Travis Heilman didn't seem able to miss from 3
range, sinking 3 for the night. On defense, East Brunswick made numerous steals
of which Andrew Golczewski contributed five. Old Bridge tried to close the gap
in the fourth period, making a number of three pointers themselves, but the
Bears made most of their foul shots to keep things in hand. Scoring for East
Brunswick were: John McLaughlin (18 points), Andrew Golczewski (15 points),
Travis Heilman (9 points), Eric Eckhardt (6 points), Scott Stolzenberg (4
points), Steve Grossman (2 points) and Brad Reiner (1 point). East Brunswick is
