September 28, 2006: Piscataway 28, East Brunswick 14
East Brunswick started off great against one of the top ranked schools in the state. The Bears ground out a 14 play, 75 yard touchdown drive after the opening kickoff. They scored on a six yard run by quarterback Randall Nixon. After making the point after touchdown, the Bears had a sweet 7-0 lead. The Bears defense then had to face Terrance Fox who took a reverse for 50 yards on the Chiefs' second play from scrimmage in the game. The Bears managed to keep Piscataway from scoring on that drive. On the next drive, despite a 34 yard gain by Fox, the Bears forced Piscataway into a 4th and 8 at the East Brunswick 15 yard line. On that play, Terrance Fox was nearly caught, but when East Brunswick swarmed after him, he managed to reverse direction and out ran everyone to the end zone. Piscataway did not convert the extra point, so the Bears ended up going into half time with a one point lead. The third quarter did not go well for East Brunswick. Piscataway exploded for three quick touchdowns and made two 2 point conversions to go ahead 28-7. The fourth quarter was better, but it wasn't until the last couple of minutes that the Bears were able to get a drive going. With 23 seconds left on the clock, East Brunswick scored another touchdown to narrow the loss. East Brunswick is now 2-1 for the season.
