April 1, 2005 - East Brunswick 2, Old Bridge 1: East Brunswick won their season opener against Old Bridge in a nail biter. After seven scoreless innings, Old Bridge scored a run off a single with bases loaded. Down 1-0, the Bears answered in the eighth inning when Reem Saadeh hit a single and then scored when Alyson Weinstein hit a sacrifice fly. Old Bridge was retired 1-2-3 in the ninth. Then tied 1-1 with 2 outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, pitcher Gina Pensavalle doubled to score Michelle Hayes for the winning run. In addition to her heroics at the plate, Gina Pensavalle pitched for seven strikeouts

April 1, 2005 - Junior Varsity - Old Bridge 2, East Brunswick 1: East Brunswick junior varsity lost a tough game against Old Bridge. East Brunswick scored first, but Old Bridge soon tied the game. The Bears had two runners called out at home. Late in the game Old Bridge hit a home run to win the game.

April 4, 2005 - East Brunswick defeated Peddie to improve their season record to 2-0. Way to go Bears!
April 5, 2005 - Edison 6, East Brunswick 5: The Bears gave up a 3 run rally in the 8th inning in their first loss of the season (2-1). Lindsay Bruno had two hits, an RBI and a run scored for East Brunswick.

April 5, 2005 - Junior Varsity - East Brunswick 4, Edison 1: East Brunswick Junior Varsity turned in a strong performance against Edison. Lauren Caruso pitched a strong game, with 15 strikeouts. Mary Zadroga, Lauren Caruso, Laura Barett scored runs. The JV is now 1-1 for the season.
April 7, 2005 - East Brunswick 5, South Brunswick 2: The Bears jumped out to a three-run lead in the second inning and never looked back. Gina Pensavalle pitched well for East Brunswick, allowing only four hits and striking out four. Pensavalle also drove in two runs for her team. Alyson Weinstein and Nicole Moses each drove in a run for East Brunswick.

April 7, 2005 - Junior Varsity - East Brunswick 8, South Brunswick 3: East Brunswick Junior Varsity had a very solid game in their 8-3 win over South Brunswick.
April 9, 2005 - Hunterdon Central 7, East Brunswick 1: East Brunswick's only score came on a sacrifice fly by Lindsey Pachuta. East Brunswick falls to 3-2 for the season.
April 11, 2005 - East Brunswick 9, Piscataway 0: Gina Pensavalle pitched a three hitter while striking out four. Alyson Weinstein had two RBIs and Dre Blanar got two singles in the victory. The Bears improve to 4-2 for the season.
April 13, 2005 - Lawrenceville Prep 8, East Brunswick 5: Lindsey Pachuta and Nicole Moses each scored home runs, but East Brunswick loses to Lawrenceville. The Bears are now 4-3 for the season.
April 14, 2005 - East Brunswick 9, Perth Amboy 0: Gina Pensavalle pitched a two hitter with only two walks while striking out 10. Danielle Mascola and Dre Blanar combined for 4 hits and three runs for the Bears. The varsity season record is now 5-3. The JV also demolished Perth Amboy, winning 13-0.
April 17, 2005 - East Brunswick 4, Old Bridge 3: What a great game! East Brunswick's Lindsay Bruno hit a triple in the 12th inning to score Alyson Weinstein and win the game. The victory improves East Brunswick's season record to 6-3. The JV also defeated Old Bridge.
April 19, 2005 - April 19, 2005 - East Brunswick 4, Sayreville 2: East Brunswick defeated Sayreville at home with strong hitting by Reem Saadeh, who went 2 for 3, Danielle Nicosia, also 2 for 3, and Lindsay Bruno who hit a single and double. Gina Pensavalle pitched a strong game as well.

April 19, 2005 - East Brunswick Junior Varsity won in a game shortened by the mercy rule.

April 21, 2005 - J.P. Stevens 3, East Brunswick 1: The Bears varsity softball team lost a close game against J.P. Stevens, but the JV was able to pull out a 6-5 victory in their game.
April 28, 2005 - East Brunswick 3, Edison 2: Gina Pensavalle, not only pitched a great game for East Brunswick, but knocked in the winning run with an RBI single in the 4th inning. Reem Saadeh had a triple, two stolen bases and a run scored and Lindsey Pachuta singled in a run and scored a run for East Brunswick.
April 29, 2005 - East Brunswick 6, South Brunswick 0: Alyson Weinstein of East Brunswick was 3 for 4 with a two-run home run. Dre Blanar had two doubles and and RBI for the Bears. With this win, the Bears improve to 9-4 for the season.
May 2, 2005 - East Brunswick 8, Piscataway 3: Danielle Mascola and Alyson Weinstein each had two hits and an RBI. Pitcher Gina Pensavalle singled in a run in addition to holding Piscataway to 3 runs. The Bears are now 10-4 for the season.
May 3, 2005 - East Brunswick 9, Sayreville 2: Both the varsity and junior varsity won yesterday in Sayreville. East Brunswick's varsity was powered by Alyson Weinstein who drove in two runs with a double and a triple. Dre Blanar also contributed two runs batted in by going two for three at the plate. With the victory, the Bears improve to 11-4 for the season.
May 4, 2005 - East Brunswick 10, Perth Amboy 0: East Brunswick dominated Perth Amboy. Danielle Mascola went 3 for 3 driving in two runs, while Linsey Pachuta had 3 hits for 3 runs. East Brunswick is now 12-4 for the season. The Junior Varsity also won 10-0 and Anne Ruffner knocked in 3 runs with a bases loaded triple.
May 7, 2005 - Bishop Ahr 4, East Brunswick 0: The Bears couldn't get much to work on offense and with the loss fell to 12-5 for the season.
May 9, 2005 - J.P. Stevens 5, East Brunswick 0: Danielle Mascola singled for East Brunswick to lead off the sixth. The Bears are now 12-6 for the season.
May 12, 2005 - East Brunswick 5, Colonia 4: Reem Saadeh was the star of the day, with two singles, two stolen bases and two runs scored in her first two at-bats. The Bears are now 13-6 for the season.
May 13, 2005 - East Brunswick 9, West Windsor-Plainsboro South 6: The game didn't get off to a good start, with West Windsor-Plainsboro South scoring two runs in the first inning. In the sixth inning however, Lindsey Pachuta hit a three-run home run to give the Bears the lead. Dre Blanar went 2 for 4 with a triple and two RBIs. Aly Weinstein had three hits and scored two runs for the Bears. Winning pitcher Gina Pensavalle went 2 for 2 with and RBI.

May 13, 2005 - East Brunswick 10, West Windsor-Plainsboro South 0: East Brunswick junior varsity was overpowering in a 'Mercy Rule' shortened game at home in East Brunswick.

May 17, 2005 - Monroe 4, East Brunswick 3: The Bears were caught from behind by Monroe in the 7th inning.
May 18, 2005 - East Brunswick 3, Wall 2 - Nicole Moses singled in a run and Danielle Mascola got an RBI on a ground out. Gina Pensavalle only allowed five hits while registering six strikeouts. East Brunswick is now 15-7 for the season.
May 21, 2005 - East Brunswick 3, Woodbridge 2 - Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament First Round - Courtesy runner Lucy Toto scored the winning run in the bottom of the 11th. Gina Pensavalle allowed only 7 hits and two walks while striking out 7. Reem Saadeh had two hits, a run scored and three stolen bases for East Brunswick. Melissa Garcia had a single and scored a run for the Bears.
May 27, 2005 - Jackson 7, East Brunswick 4 - Central Jersey, Group 4 quarterfinals - East Brunswick tried to come from behind in the top of the seventh and scored three runs including a single by Lindsey Tachlta, but in the end they couldn't quite pull it off. East Brunswick is now 16-8 for the season.
May 30, 2005 - East Brunswick 5, Carteret 4 - East Brunswick came from behind to win the semifinal round of the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament. East Brunswick is now 18-8 for the season.
June 1, 2005 - Middlesex 2, East Brunswick 1 in 13 innings: East Brunswick scored first, but in the bottom of the third inning, Middlesex had the bases loaded with no outs. East Brunswick made two quick outs at home plate before Middlesex scored a run. The Bears then got out of the inning. The next 10 innings of play were fabulous. Both pitchers were on top of their game and were supported by some great fielding. East Brunswick had base runners many times, but could not quite get them around to home. This game was an epic battle and both teams should feel very proud. East Brunswick Softball
