May 25, 2005 - Greater Middlesex Conference Champions - East Brunswick played spectacular volleyball to defeat a very tough opponent in St. Joseph's. In the second game, East Brunswick fell behind and looked out of rhythm. With the start of the third game, you could see the determination in East Brunswick's faces. Tom Kohler seemed to dare anyone to try and stop him as he smashed numerous kills and seemed to take charge with his dominating serve. Bryan O'Sullivan used a combination of power and trickery to baffle St. Joseph's. The crowd was enthusiastic - on both sides - it was a great championship game.

June 8, 2005 - NJSIAA Group 4 Semifinals - East Brunswick lost a heart-breaker to Clifton 12-25, 25-22, 25-20: East Brunswick looked dominating in the first game, but seemed to come unglued in the second game. Despite some moments of brilliance when it looked like East Brunswick would settle down, they could not sustain them in the face of a very determined opponent. While the players consider anything short of a state title to be a failure, the team should be so proud of the way they played this season - the determination and team work that they demonstrated is a what high school sports is all about.
