East Brunswick knocked off the top seeded South Brunswick Vikings in a hard fought battle played in East Brunswick. The Bears scored with about 9:20 left in the first half, when Kaitlyn Roughan curved the corner kick into the goal over the hands of keeper Sydney Schneider of South Brunswick. The South Brunswick Vikings, the No. 13 in The NJ.com Top 20 pressed hard against East Brunswick in the second half, but could not get anything past East Brunswick keeper, Alex Kalafor. Since the tournament began in 1985, the Bears have appeared in 27 of the 28 finals and won 26 of them. East Brunswick will take on the winner of Bishop Ahr and Old Bridge Saturday at Colonia High School. Come out and cheer on the Bears as they play for the championship!
