February 16, 2008 – New Brunswick 51, East Brunswick 30 – Greater
Middlesex Conference Quarter Finals

East Brunswick hung in there for
most of the first half against a highly favored New Brunswick team, but were
overwhelmed in the second half. East Brunswick sunk four three pointers in the first half, but couldn’t get any to land in the
second half. Scoring for East Brunswick were: Shannon Nulty (11 points), Dana Pagliuco (8 points), Tara Romancino (8 points),
Katie Paige (2 points) and Marie-Elena Byrnes (1 points).

East Brunswick is now 13-10 for the season.

January 31, 2008 – South Brunswick 54, East Brunswick 30

East Brunswick couldn’t keep pace with South Brunswick, falling behind 26-8 at the half.
East Brunswick rallied some in the second half, but couldn’t close the gap.
Scoring for East Brunswick were: Marie-Elena Byrnes (8 points), Shannon Nulty (4 points),
Dana Pagliuco (3 points), Tara Romancino (3 points),
Cassie Riccio (4 points), Linda Sollecito (4 points) and
Samantha Ur (4 points).

January 22, 2008 – East Brunswick 55, J.P. Stevens 27

East Brunswick clinched a state playoff berth with a scoring explosion lead by Marie-Elena Byrnes who racked up 15 points.
The Bears surged into the lead quickly with a 17-6 first period.
Scoring for East Brunswick were: Marie-Elena Byrnes (15 points), Elise Roughan (8 points), Shannon Nulty (6 points),
Katie Paige (7 points), Dana Pagliuco (2 points), Cassie Riccio (4 points), Jenn Schellenberg (4 points), Linda Sollecito (2 points) and
Samantha Ur (7 points).

East Brunswick is now 9-5 for the season.

January 19, 2008 – South Plainfield 45, East Brunswick 32

East Brunswick gave up 25 points in foul shots including 15 of 18 by Blair Houston. Marie-Elena Byrnes scored a team high 15 points
East Brunswick fell behind in the second period but was only 6 behind at the half. South Plainfield opened up a bigger lead in the second
half.
Scoring for East Brunswick were: Marie-Elena Byrnes (15 points), Elise Roughan (3 points),
Katie Paige (2 points), Jenn Schellenberg (9 points) and
Samantha Ur (3 points).

East Brunswick is now 8-5 for the season.

January 17, 2008 – Old Bridge 41, East Brunswick 28

East Brunswick suffered a disappointing loss to Greater Middlesex Red Division rival Old Bridge. East Brunswick was ahead 21-17 at
the end of 3 quarters, but the Knights surged ahead in the final period helped by a 21-2 edge in foul shots.
Scoring for East Brunswick were: Shannon Nulty (6 points),
Katie Paige (6 points), Dana Pagliuco (2 points),
Elise Roughan (6 points), Marie-Elena Byrnes (4 points) and Samantha Ur (4 points).

East Brunswick is now 8-4 for the season.

January 3, 2008 – East Brunswick 32, Edison 23

East Brunswick’s smothering defense held Greater Middlesex Red Division opponent Edison to only 23 points. The Bears outscored Edison in each of the first 3 quarters building
up a 30-15 advantage. Edison outscored the Bears 8-2 in the final period, but could come no closer.
Scoring for East Brunswick were: Dana Pagliuco (7 points), Jenn Schellenberg (4 points)
Katie Paige (4 points), Tara Romancino (3 points), Elise Roughan (8 points), Marie-Elena Byrnes (2 points) and Shannon Nulty (4 points).

East Brunswick made good use of its depth with a total team effort in which 10 different players scored and no one scored more than 6.
East Brunswick started the game with a strong 15-5 first quarter. Scoring for East Brunswick were: Shannon Nulty (8 points),
Katie Paige (6 points), Tara Romancino (5 points), Marie-Elena Byrnes (5 points), Dana Pagliuco (4 points),
Raughan (4 points), Cassie Riccio (3 points), Solorzano (3 points), Jenn Schellenberg (2 points) and Samantha Ur (2 points).

December 14, 2007 – East Brunswick 35, Old Bridge 27

East Brunswick quickly demonstrated that not only are they a vastly improved ball club this year but with several freshman starters, they are a team with a very
bright future. The game started slowly with Old Bridge holding a 2-0 lead for several minutes. The Bears finally got on the board with two quick three pointers and never
trailed again. Tara Romancino was the top scorer for East Brunswick with 10 points. Scoring for East Brunswick were: Shannon Nulty (8 points), Dana Pagliuco (4 points),
Katie Paige (7 points),
Tara Romancino (10 points) and Jenn Schellenberg (6 points).
East Brunswick is now 1-0 for the season.
